About Us
Our Story
alphaNUCLEAR formed in 1975 as a manufacturer of instrumentation for the detection and measurement of radon gas and radon progeny. The company was incorporated in Ontario, Canada, in 1984.
alphaNUCLEAR operated in Ontario until 2001, when it became a member of the Cameco group of companies and moved it operations to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a major center for uranium mining. alphaNUCLEAR is owned by Cameco Corporation, one of the worlds largest uranium producers, and operates out of Cameco’s corporate campus.
Cameco’s acquisition of alphaNUCLEAR allowed our product portfolio to expand into geology and exploration equipment, which includes a line of standard and high flux downhole probes. alphaNUCLEAR subsequently added ore grade scanners for ore trucks, scoop buckets and skips.
alphaNUCLEAR is recognized worldwide, and our customers include the mining industry, nuclear facilities, universities and research institutes around the world. We also provide technical support, calibration and maintenance services for all our products, plus several other products used in mining and exploration. alphaNUCLEAR also offers custom designs and manufacturing of radon and other radiation detection related instrumentation and accessories. On-site technical consultation is also provided by request.
